The ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) is a stylish, low-maintenance indoor plant known for its glossy, dark green leaves and upright growth pattern. Native to Eastern Africa, this hardy plant is highly drought-tolerant and thrives even in low-light conditions, making it ideal for homes, offices, reception areas, and corporate spaces.
Its thick rhizomes store water, allowing it to withstand neglect and irregular watering. With its clean, architectural look and air-purifying qualities, the ZZ Plant adds a modern, sophisticated touch to any interior.
Plant Care:
1. Light:
Thrives in bright, indirect light but adapts very well to low-light conditions. Avoid direct harsh sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
2. Watering:
Water only when the soil is completely dry. ZZ Plants are highly drought-tolerant and susceptible to overwatering. Always ensure the pot has proper drainage.
3. Temperature:
Prefers temperatures between 18°C to 30°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 12°C.
4. Humidity:
Adapts well to normal indoor humidity levels. No misting is required.
5. Soil:
Use well-draining potting mix. A mix suitable for succulents works well to prevent water retention.
6. Fertilization:
Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 6–8 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid fertilizing in winter.
7. Pruning & Maintenance:
Remove yellow or damaged leaves at the base. Wipe leaves occasionally to maintain their natural shine.
8. Repotting:
Repot every 2–3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound.
